The short version: We collect your email address when you request early access. The Verdict CLI stores governance decision history locally on your machine by default — that data is never transmitted to us. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. You can request deletion or opt out of local telemetry at any time.

Early access email addresses
When you submit your email address using the early access form, we collect and store that address. We use it to send you product updates, early access invitations, and announcements about ObsidianWall. We will not contact you for any other purpose without your explicit consent.
Email submissions are processed by Formspree, which acts as a data processor on our behalf.
Verdict CLI decision history (on by default — you can opt out)
The ObsidianWall Verdict CLI stores governance decision history
locally on your machine by default, to power features like
verdict audit. This data is stored at
~/.obsidianwall/decisions.db and, as of this version,
never leaves your machine — there is no remote
transmission.
To opt out entirely, set:
export OW_HISTORY_ENABLED=falseWhen enabled (the default), we store locally:
We never collect:
A note on file paths: the policy file path is stored as-is rather than hashed. If your file system paths contain folder names that reveal project or organization information, that information would be present in your local decision history. This data stays on your machine and is not transmitted anywhere by current versions of Verdict.
Looking ahead: a future release (Compass) is planned to offer optional, explicitly opt-in hosted storage for teams who want centralized governance intelligence across an organization. If and when that ships, this policy will be updated before that feature is enabled, and it will require separate, explicit consent — it will not be retroactively applied to existing local-only installations.
